Stop what you’re doing, now. This is important!

If you can be in Nottingham over the next few days, get along to Nottingham Trent University and see their MA Design Expo. The group of students I’ve been supervising there are currently holding their public expo! If you like good design and want to see some of the next generation of design thinkers and practitioners, then get over to the MA Design course at Nottingham Trent University.

You’ll see interesting, dynamic and at times provocative work that challenges prevailing thinking on design. For me, a lot of the work demonstrates why design is and should be important. The course caters for students specialising in many different disciplines, including textiles, fashion, ceramics, product design and of course, graphics.

My group chose a module on branding and identity. I was asked to supervise them because of my industry experience in the area and my teaching background with the University of Lincoln. Over the course of the academic year, as part of the teaching team, I encouraged the students to learn and understand how to use brands to communicate with audiences.

You can see all of the above and loads more in the public expo. Whatever you do, don’t miss the show….

Public View:
Friday 20 – Saturday 28 July 2012, 11 am – 4 pm (closed on Sundays)

More details on the expo can be found here, and here.
