100% renewable energy generation – a solution for the UK?

Worth catching this very interesting BBC radio programme about the green energy revolution in Germany, before it disappears from their website and archives. It’s introduced me to a new term ‘Prosumers’ – local energy producer/consumers that are generating vast amounts of surplus energy from renewables, including wind power. In the case of The tiny village of Feldheim, 60km from Berlin, is powered by energy from 100% renewable sources. It produces four times the amount of energy it needs, selling the surplus to the national grid.
